The Summer Music Festival of Herdecke , this is a small format of a weekend of three to four concerts in the Collegiate Church ("Stiftskirche") in Herdecke, which has been organized by the Protestant church Herdecke for many years.
This year you can look forward to a recorder ensemble from northern Germany and a choir concert. On the 3rd day – on Sunday, July 7th at 5pm – we cordially invite you to the listed church building Stiftskirche St. Marien for our concert Summertime Brass . Be impressed by the enormous acoustics in one of the oldest churches in Germany (about 830).
In the approximately 1 hour lasting brass concert – by the way, this is a novelty in the already 15-year history of the Summer Music Festival – listen to works by Renaissance, Baroque and Classical composers such as
Johann Sebastian Bach ,
Georg Philipp Telemann or
Johann Christoph Pepusch as well as moving and touching contemporary music of
Jacob de Haan ,
Astor Piazzolla ,
Rolf Løvland ,
George Gershwin ,
Jürgen Hahn or
Richard Roblee .
Admission is free.
