"Joy with the music that can be produced with brass instruments" — in essence this is our motivation, why we regularly meet for rehearsals and at one occasion or another   in the context of concerts or on special occasions – perform classical and modern brass music. "We", well these are committed brass players from the region around Wetter (Ruhr), Herdecke and Hagen.

Title: Sound of Brass - soundcheck

By the way: musically you are not only supplied by us РSound of Brass, but also from our "chefs ̩toil̩s de la haute cuisine" Benedikt Pernack on the organ and the soprano Anne Frei.

Benedikt Pernack – Organ

Born in 1997 in Wetter (Ruhr), Benedikt Pernack has been teaching piano since he was a child and soon discovered his passion for the organ.

Already at the age of 11 he received the first organ lessons from Dr. Christian Vorbeck in Witten. Since 2010, Benedikt Pernack regularly accompanies services and masses, among others in Witten, Herdecke, Wetter and Dortmund. In 2015 he completed the two-year training as a part time church musician (C exam) in the Archbishopric of Paderborn.

Since 2017, Benedikt Pernack is a part-time church musician in the parish association at the Ruhr lakes and as an organist and cantor responsible for the parishes in Herdecke.

In addition to his musical commitment, Benedikt Pernack has been studying physics at the Ruhr University Bochum since the winter semester 2015/2016.

Anne Frei – Sopranistin

In 1997, Anne Frei began painting painstakingly at the AAK Dortmund with the artist Andreas Christ. Since 2005 she regularly participated in seminars at the European Academy of Arts Trier with Bernd Petri.

For Anne Frei painting is closely linked to music. So she took singing lessons from 2012 to 2016 with Elena Haifiz, a lecturer at Münster University, and from 2016 with opera singer Maria Klier in Cologne.

In addition to annual workshops in the studio Stimmgewand (Maria Klier) she takes part in group concerts. Anne Frei is a singer in the church choir of the Luther parish in Wetter and in the women's choir Harmonie Wetter.

The venue: the Ruhr Valley Cathedral in Wetter

The Lutheran Church in Wetter - because of its exceptional size and monumentality also called Ruhrtaler Cathedral - was built between 1904 and 1906 in the Gothic Revival style with reference to Romanesque forms. The construction was the outstanding task at the beginning of the 20th century for the church. After extensive renovation in the years 1994 to 2004, the house of God now shines in new splendor.

The special acoustics of this monument turns every concert into a very special experience.

Your way to the venue

The Lutheran Church is located in the heart of Alt-Wetter, just steps away from the train station. There you will also find plenty of parking.

And now we wish you a lot of pleasure while trying out our "haute cuisine".

Note: This concert takes place in cooperation with Ev.-luth. Kirchengemeinde Wetter (Ruhr).
